Reverse Logistics
Route Every Return to the Right Place, and Back to Value
The Reverse Logistics add-on extends KIBO’s Order Routing intelligence to handle reverse flows: Suggesting optimal return locations at initiation and the best disposition at receiving based on your configured strategies. Optional restock updates ensure real-time inventory accuracy.
Two Smart Decisions in One Flow
Return Location Suggestion (at initiation)
When a CSR (or your returns front‑end) initiates a return, KIBO calls Order Routing to suggest the optimal return location per line item. If different items need different nodes, multiple returns are created automatically; the CSR can override the suggestion.
Disposition Suggestion (at receiving)
At receiving, the user selects the item’s condition. Order Routing suggests the best disposition location. You may restock and (optionally) update on‑hand inventory via configuration. (KIBO Documentation)Your Levers: Strategies, Filters, and Controls
Routing Strategy
Filters & Attributes
Filter by return reason (first‑class), condition (first‑class), and extensible location attributes for capability control and compliance.
Operational Controls
CSR override, automatic multi‑return split, and whether restock changes on‑hand inventory are all configurable.
Work the Way You Want
Route returned items to the optimal location for restocking, refurbishing, liquidation, or disposal based on set scenarios.
Configure which stores, DCs, or vendors can receive returns with rules for capacity, product type, and regional logistics.
Apply the same intelligent order routing engine used for fulfillment to returns, optimizing for cost, speed, and inventory placement.
Reverse Logistics Mini Demo
Try it for yourself — turn received items into clear next steps
Record the condition, get a disposition location instantly, and (when appropriate) restock — all in one place. Try the flow on the right and see how decisions are pre‑filled yet still overrideable.
Returns don’t have to stall in a backroom queue. Capture condition once, suggest the best destination, and keep inventory accurate — faster refunds, lower reverse freight, and fewer touches.

FAQs
Is Reverse Logistics part of OMS or Commerce?
It’s a distinct add‑on for Order Management. It can be sold with Commerce or OMS Advanced, but requires Order Routing functionality.
Does this replace my returns portal?
No. Keep your portal. This add‑on provides decisioning via APIs and UI for service teams; you can also debug logic via Suggestion Logs.
How does “Lowest Inventory” help?
It prioritizes return/disposition locations with the lowest available inventory (ideal for quickly restocking where inventory is thin) to maximize inventory availability.
Will Restock change on‑hand inventory?
Yes, when the action is selected at receiving and if the feature is configured to update on-hand inventory via the site settings.
