Retail industry veteran brings 30 years of experience to unified commerce vendor
DALLAS – April 19, 2018 – Kibo, the world’s leading cloud-based omnichannel commerce platform, today announced that Lori Schafer has joined its board of directors. Lori is a senior executive and entrepreneur with 30 years of experience in retail and consumer-packaged goods’ technology, marketing, merchandising, and supply chain. She currently serves as Executive Advisor, Retail, SAS Institute, a leading global analytics company. Lori consults with retailers and brands on their digital transformation strategies in today’s world of rapidly changing consumer expectations and omnichannel commerce.
Lori has served on the board of directors of various public and private retailers, consumer goods, and technology companies. She is also a past board member of the National Retail Federation. Her experience with building retail technology businesses will serve Kibo well as it enters its next phase of growth.

In 2010, Lori co-authored the business book Best Seller, Branded! How Retailers Engage Consumers with Social Media and Mobile, which predicted how mobile technology and social media would change the face of retail in just a few short years. From 2003 to 2009, Schafer served as President of SAS Retail. During that time, Lori was instrumental in building SAS Institute’s global leadership position in retail analytics.
Prior to her tenure at SAS, Lori served as Chairman and CEO of Marketmax, Inc., an analytics software company specializing in merchandise planning and analytics software, which was acquired by SAS in 2003. Prior to that, Lori started her career at Procter & Gamble. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in the school of Applied Science with a degree in Mathematics and Operations Research from Miami University.
