In this report, Forrester highlights how the needs and experiences of B2C digital businesses are impacting commerce technology and driving innovation. I’ll walk you through some of the findings below. But first, if you are not familiar with Forrester’s reports, The Forrester Waves are comprehensive guides featuring an evaluation of the top vendors in certain market segments. They are conducted every two years to help organizations select the right vendor for their technology needs and use cases.
Here are a couple of interesting findings from The Forrester Wave™: B2C Commerce Solutions, Q2 2022 report that are currently impacting B2C digital businesses.
Shifting Consumer Expectations Drives Need for Agility
In this report, Forrester states that, “Retailers and digital direct-to-consumer businesses are strapped for staff, forced to move faster than ever, and heavily reliant on technology. That reliance, coupled with lightning-fast changes to consumer expectations, drives them to seek constant technological innovation, even if their adoption of it is frustratingly slow and incremental. In-store, retailers add dedicated point-of-service store fulfillment tools or look to other categories, like order management systems (OMS), to layer on these suddenly mandatory requirements.”
As brands and retailers are considering the impacts of these quickly changing customer expectations and the driving need to quickly deliver engaging shopping experiences, it is more important than ever to find the right solution and technology partner that can deliver.
With the right vendor partner, it becomes possible and even easier to create a robust commerce platform that streamlines backend functions such as inventory management and order fulfillment, to keep customers satisfied and loyal to a brand.
As Forrester also points out in this report, “In commerce, this exodus to modern solutions, architecture, and delivery models rewards the vendors that have invested in tech that enables them – and their users – to innovate faster.”
Kibo Headless eCommerce: Value of a Unified Approach for Retailer and Brands
At Kibo, we have heavily invested in our technology and have been rewarded not only with the support of our customers, but by our recognition as a Leader in B2C commerce solutions by Forrester. But what is it about Kibo Headless eCommerce that makes us a Leader? Here is a brief overview of what our solution brings to the table and how we shine.
According to Forrester, “Kibo is a best fit for digital businesses that prioritize a pre-integrated platform with shared services across functional areas.”
Because today’s commerce tech stack comes from a variety of vendors to support the full breadth of commerce tech functionality, Kibo makes it easier for retailers and brands by being a single vendor managing a wide variety of commerce functionalities.
Our API-first microservices-based, multi-tenant SaaS solution helps retailers and brands to quickly adapt to the ever-changing consumer environment with a great depth and breadth of services.
Kibo Headless eCommerce scored the highest in several categories, including:
- Order and inventory management
- Supporting products and services
- Reporting and analytics
- Product vision
Forrester also notes that, “Kibo has strengths in product vision and supporting products and services, as it now has unified functions from its acquisitions and shares them between products in its platform.” Forrester mentions that “Kibo is strong in front-end management, reporting and analytics, and order and inventory management.
Additionally, in Forrester’s FIRE report, Kibo was mentioned as, “The only vendor that covers both OMS and commerce with a unified platform.”
In fact, Kibo Order Management is also built on our Unified Commerce Platform, and we include the embedded Tray.io marketplace, which minimizes integration and speeds time to market.
Kibo Unified Commerce Platform provides a synchronized view across all the moving pieces, which is especially important in an omnichannel retail environment.
Finally, when evaluating solutions, retailers and brands should consider the depth and breadth of services provided, the time and investment it will take to deploy and maintain, and whether it meets their business needs.
