Customer-Obsessed Commerce: Harnessing The Power Of The New Retail Imperatives

May 2 at 9:30am

Retailers and manufacturers are struggling to find ways to evolve and differentiate in order to win, serve, and retain today’s digitally-savvy and hyper-stimulated customers. In addition, they are dealing with new, unique challenges in the way they view and manage their culture, organization, technologies, and even measurements of success. Given the massive landscape of options for moving forward, retailers and manufacturers face questions such as, “Where do we start?”, “What technologies do we need to care about today?” and more importantly, “Are we choosing the right tools for our organization to achieve our goals through digital excellence?” In this session, guest speaker and Forrester Principal Analyst, Brendan Witcher, will discuss what advancements are of critical importance today, what are interesting (but may not be necessary this year), and what key challenges stand in the way of better serving the needs of today’s retail customers.

Brendan is a leading expert on eCommerce business, consumer behavior, and technology trends in the digital engagement space. He is also a noted authority on technology developments that affect both online and offline commerce industries, as well as vendors that help facilitate delivery of today’s leading strategies and tactics in digital excellence.

In his research, Brendan covers such consumer-oriented topics as eCommerce trends, customer experience best practices, and personalization capabilities within verticals that include retail, CPGs, B2B, financial services, media, entertainment, hospitality, and the public sector. In addition to keynoting at global industry events and advising executive teams on digital strategy, Brendan is routinely sought after for comments and insights by industry media such as CNBC, PBS, The Economist, Time, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Internet Retailer Magazine.

Before joining Forrester, Brendan amassed 25 years of experience in both hospitality and multichannel retail, holding multiple leadership positions for retailers like Guitar Center and Harry & David with roles in strategic planning, eCommerce operations, and digital marketing.
